Unfortunately, Prop 201 passed and a state wide total smoking ban will be in place (I believe May 2007 is the date but I’m not sure). Along this line, Prop 203 which is a childrens early education program, but in reality is an 80 cent per pack tax increase on cigarettes, also passed, to fully fund this program. So don’t even buy cigarettes here.

201 did sadly pass, and I read that it’ll take effect May 1, 2007. Still, as much as I’m disappointed it passed, at least over half of the votes against 201 came from non-smokers.

I am so glad that the law passed. I grew up in a household where I didn’t smoke, but my parents and one sibling did so. I suffered the stink, sinus infections, and the like because they smoked. I’ve got nothing against smoking,as long as you don’t make me do so, involuntarily! Living in such an environment IS smoking hell!
