Smoking ban laws are mainly determined by county in Maryland, and towns are also allowed to pass bans(though its counties that’ve done the banning, with the exemption of 1 town). Total smoking bans in place in a few D.C. + Baltimore area counties, which are Montgomery, Prince George, and Howard County. Outside of D.C./Baltimore, Talbot County(Easton) and the town of La Plata also have total bans, while Charles County only has a partial ban applying only to restaurants.

Maryland’s new statewide smoking ban actually takes effect on Febuary 1st, 2008, NOT on 2/1/07. Just wanted to update your listing, since Maryland’s recently passed ban is not quite in effect just yet.
